Discovery + Strategy
Hedvig is a pioneer in software-defined storage. Founded in 2012, the company has established itself as a global leader amongst the world’s largest and most successful distributed systems. After re-tooling its product with the release of Hedvig Distributed Storage Platform v3.0, and closing a new round of funding, the company’s brand identity was in need of a refresh. Hedvig tapped Revere alongside several project partners to create a new visual identity and oversee stewardship of the new brand alongside a revamped marketing and communications effort.
Discovery + Strategy
The Silicon Valley tech scene is a competitive place. Our team needed to position Hedvig against an ever-growing list of competitors and ensure they stood out as a pioneering industry leader. We thoughtfully researched and analyzed everything from communication style, brand colorways, to audience insights and offered the client team recommendations for further developing the brand.
The strategy phase for Hedvig focused on new ways to position Hedvig as not only a localized industry leader, but a global leader in the storage revolution. This resulted in recommendations for overall brand messaging, visual concepts and re-defining core attributes of the brand.
In redesigning Hedvig’s visual brand we focused on three primary areas: a colorway that would stand out against the sea of blues and greens, that are so prevalent amongst data management solutions. Brand design that communicates more of what Hedvig does; and lastly, ensure visual components were unified across the entire brand system. This meant revisisting iconography, static and motion graphics and typography.
Ultimately, Revere produced a brand mark that echoed Hedvig’s ability to offer scalable, adaptable and easily managed storage solutions both on-premises and in the cloud. A signature element became the stacked bits that make up the brand mark and are easily replicated across the brand.
An ultra-bright color palette consisting of violets, pink and blues helped project the brand loudly across its competitive landscape and the versatility and super-techy allure of IBM Plex offered a clean look to the brand’s typography.

Revere works in distributed partner teams to maximize its capabilities in an effort to produce a stellar end product. Hedvig’s website was no exception. We partnered with the trusty folks at Shop and Amethyst to deliver not just compelling interface design, but a high-quality content strategy alongside hand-coded goodness to transform Hedvig’s website in a lead-generation machine.
Brand Activation + Production
Our brand work paved the way for new opportunities for Hedvig. A series of awards and nominations, as well as ongoing demand generation support has allowed Revere’s partnership with Hedvig to extend into collateral and document production as well as marketing campaign creative, planning and execution.
